I Love the ‘No Tension’ Universe!

September 23, 2009

Today I met with the Director of Community & Special Services at a local college in Orange County.  I wasn’t sure about what was going to transpire, so I went in with little expectation of the outcome.

Five months ago I submitted a proposal to teach 2 course in their Holistic Health Program.  You see, I love speaking – as much as I love Coaching. I love teaching and training. I am good at it. I am quite comfortable on a stage. I’ve presented a few workshops in the past few months, but with very few attendants.  My ideal is to speak to a minimum of 500 people at a time – this is one of my top 5 Passions. I thought presenting a few workshops and courses at the college would be a good platform for me and would provide value to the students. When I hadn’t heard in several months I just went in search of other ways to get in front of people.

I received a call last Thursday from the director of the program.  She was interested in talking to me about my proposal. I knew this meant there was a possibility my proposal was being considered but that was all.  I continued my practice of ‘No Tension’ and had a wonderful weekend.

I was met by a delightful woman who I immediately liked and fell immediately into rapport with.  She introduced me to the Sr. Community Services Assistant directly in charge of the Massage School.  Another delightful woman – warm and passionate about the program.  An hour and 1/2 later I was signing forms and the schedule was set for both of my classes to be included in the Spring Curriculum.  Additionally, we talked about other courses I could offer – but would need to look at the Summer to start those.

Wow!  That was Easy!

I don’t know how many students will enroll in these courses, but I know it will be more than I have presented to in a long time.  I, also have a presentation to approximately 35 persons scheduled for the second week in October.  I am confident that before long I will be presenting to at least 500 persons – providing valuable information they can apply to live their Passions and Create the Lives they Want.
